Do platforms strip it for you?

Some do, many do not, and the coverage is inconsistent enough that you should not rely on it. Several large social platforms remove most metadata on upload, which is why images saved from them are often clean. But messaging apps, email attachments, cloud drives, and marketplaces frequently pass the original file through untouched, and even platforms that strip on public posts may keep the original in a link or download. The only way to be certain is to strip it yourself before the file leaves your device, which also protects you in the cases where a platform preserves the original.

Cleaning many photos at once

If you have a whole album to clean, doing it one at a time is tedious. People often assume screenshotting a photo removes its metadata, and for EXIF that is broadly true, a screenshot is a fresh capture with no original EXIF. What EXIF removal does not affect

It is worth being precise so you know what you are getting. And it cannot remove something embedded in the pixels themselves, such as a visible watermark drawn onto the photo, which is a different kind of thing entirely.
